A member of the public is putting out a warning for anyone with children or walking dogs in an Oxfordshire forest, after flooding nearly caused disaster.
The woman, who did not wish to be named, said she was walking through Bernswood Forest earlier in the week when a "very strong" Labrador she was walking was sucked into a whirlpool.
"God forbid someone with a child or another smaller dog was involved," the woman said.
"It could have been a very nasty situation - and it looked like a very small pond or body of water."
She said she heard a "heart-breaking yelp" and ran to find the dog under the water - with only his snout poking out.
The woman said she grabbed his collar just in time but wanted to warn others of the danger.
