MCSD Whiteboard: Congratulations to all MCHS graduates
MCSD Whiteboard
Another spectacular school year is drawing to a close, and with it, the secondary school careers of another batch of incredible Moffat County High School graduates.
Moffat County School District wants to wish the class of 2024 a hearty congratulations and good luck.
This class of fresh young grads includes an Air Force Academy appointment, a naval commission, scholarship recipients and lots of young people ready for adulthood and contribution to the community.
We’re so proud of this group. Think about this: These graduates entered kindergarten in 2011-12. Remember 2011? It’s hard to believe from then to now, these students have grown so much, accomplished so many things and prepared themselves to accomplish so much more. It’s also a reminder that the kindergarten class of 2024 (congrats to those little grads, too!) will graduate high school in 2036. What kind of world will this year’s graduates have worked with all of us to create for them to step into?
It’s easy to forget the importance of education when in the midst of the day-to-day slog of 13 years of school, but the truth is, every moment is building the future of our community and society. That’s why we invest so heavily in the success of our teachers and students. It’s why we flatter ourselves by saying a school district is, in so many ways, the engine of a community’s future. It’s why we MUST believe that every student can learn. It’s why we take our mission, to educate and inspire students to thrive in an environment of change, so seriously.
We are so excited for this new crop of graduates. Moffat County is transitioning into a new economy, and these students will determine our future. They are our workforce, our future entrepreneurs, our innovators and our customers. They are the people Moffat County will turn to, both now and in the coming years, as we shape our own destiny.
Welcome these graduates into the next step in their lives. Hire them. Train them. Educate them further. Encourage them to build, to give back, to create. Help them see that Moffat County can be home, and carry on the teaching our educators have instilled in them of what it takes to contribute to that home.
We’re so excited for this class of graduates. We can’t wait to see what you do. We are excited to work alongside you as you do it. Congratulations, Class of 2024. We’re counting on you.
