OWINGS MILLS, Md. — Glenelg got off to a fast start Wednesday in the Maryland Class 2A boys’ lacrosse championship game. The Gladiators led Hereford by four goals in the first quarter and looked poised to cruise to their first title since 2019.

But Hereford, seeking its second crown in four years, dug in at Stevenson University’s Mustang Stadium. By early in the fourth quarter, the Gladiators’ lead was one and they desperately needed to halt the Bulls’ momentum. In stepped Tim Iannarino.
