17 Districts Record Maximum Temperatures Between 43 to 45 Degrees
Bhopal, May 22 (Udaipur Kiran): Madhya Pradesh is reeling under intense heat these days. The scorching heat continued to grip the state on Wednesday as well. During this time, the highest temperature in the state was recorded at 45 degrees Celsius in Ratlam. Ratlam remained the hottest in the state for the second consecutive day. Meanwhile, heatwave prevailed in Dhar. The maximum temperature in 17 cities of the state was recorded between 43 to 45 degrees Celsius.

Bhopal Receives Light Rain
Talking about the capital Bhopal, the daytime temperature here on Wednesday was recorded at 43.9 degrees Celsius, which is the highest of this season. However, after a day of scorching heat, there was light rain at some places in the capital Bhopal in the evening along with strong winds. 0.2 millimeters of rain was recorded in the New City. Seven millimeters of rain fell in Malakhand.
Heatwave to Continue Till May 25-26
The temperature in Indore was 43.4 degrees on Wednesday. Heatwave and humidity troubled people during this time. The night temperature was also recorded at 29 degrees. According to meteorologists, this weather pattern is likely to continue till May 25-26. After this, relief can be expected in Nautapa due to the activation of the Western Disturbance.
Maximum Temperatures in Other Cities
Apart from Indore and Bhopal, the maximum temperature on Wednesday was 43.7 degrees in Gwalior, 43.8 degrees in Ujjain and 42 degrees in Jabalpur. Meanwhile, the temperature was recorded at 44 degrees or more in Shivpuri, Sagar, Naugaon, Datia, Guna, Khajuraho, Khandwa, Khargone, Shajapur, Damoh and Dhar. Here, along with Bhopal, there was rain in Budhani of Sehore. The Meteorological Department has also issued an alert of thunderstorm and rain in Betul, Chhindwara, Pandhurna, Seoni and Balaghat.
Weather Systems Affecting Madhya Pradesh
According to the information received from the Bhopal Meteorological Center, a new Western Disturbance is currently formed as a cyclone around Iran. A cyclonic circulation has formed in the upper air over East Rajasthan. From this cyclone, a trough has formed from North Madhya Pradesh, South Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and West Bengal to Bangladesh. Another trough from this cyclone has formed from South-West Madhya Pradesh to Central Maharashtra to North Karnataka.
Senior Meteorologist’s Take
Senior meteorologist Ajay Shukla said that due to the effect of weather systems formed at different places, there is partial cloud cover and light to moderate winds with drizzle at some places in most cities of the state. Despite this, the heat persists. Especially, there is thunder and rain in the districts of Bhopal, Narmadapuram, Jabalpur, Shahdol and Rewa divisions. This situation is likely to continue for three to four days.
