Just in time for the splendid summer weather in the nation’s capital, Park Hyatt Washington D.C., located at 1201 24th Street NW, unveils a new package, “Picnic in The Park,” inviting guests to relish breakfast, lunch, or dinner with a gourmet picnic for two in one of the area’s most picturesque parks. From Georgetown’s waterfront and Hains Point to Rivergate City Park in Old Town Alexandria and Gravelly Point along the George Washington Memorial Parkway, the stunning scenery complements the sumptuous feast prepared by the culinary team of the award-winning Blue Duck Tavern. This picnic package includes an overnight stay at the luxurious Park Hyatt, with private sedan roundtrip transportation to the picnic location. Guests will find a beautifully arranged picnic setup, courtesy of Park Hyatt Washington’s partner, Sutherland Styled Picnics. The setup features elegant linens, silverware, plush pillows, candles, and low-slung tables, creating a uniquely pampered experience.
The fall outdoor picnic package offers three meal options. “Breakfast at the Park” includes house-made croissants, chocolatines, muffins, preserves, freshly sliced fruit and berries, yogurt parfaits, house-made granola, freshly brewed coffee or cold brew, and seasonal fresh fruit juices. Ham, quiche, cheese selections, salmon, and eggs can be added for an extra fee. “Lunch at the Park” features Blue Duck Tavern Roasted Vegetable Salad with Goat Cheese and sorrel, Green Goddess or Einkorn and Quinoa Salad with roasted corn, grilled zucchini, arugula, olives, feta, cherry tomatoes, chives, parsley, and lemon-fennel vinaigrette. The main course options include Slow Roasted Beef with grilled red onion, aged white cheddar, horseradish aioli, pickles, and bib lettuce on whole wheat; Sopressata, coppa, spotted trotter ham with provolone, roasted red pepper, olive spread, and giardiniera on Sicilian roll; House-smoked Turkey Club with avocado aioli, tomatoes, Havarti, shredded lettuce, and turkey bacon on rosemary focaccia; Pain Bagnat with confit tuna, haricot vert, quail egg, tomato, anchovies, and olive bread; or Grilled Zucchini, yellow squash, Portobello mushrooms, arugula, red pepper hummus, and goat cheese in a whole wheat wrap. These are served with house-spiced chips, Blue Duck Tavern chocolate chip cookies, and whole fruit. “Evening at the Park” starts with dips like Market Vegetable Crudités with house ranch, romesco marinated olives, roasted peppers, and local feta with Fire Hook Crackers. This is followed by Artisan Charcuterie featuring coppa, saucisson Basque, bresaola, Rosette de Lyon house pickled vegetables, Palladin bread, and house mustard. The Local Handcrafted Cheese Display includes four local artisan cheeses (goat, cow, and sheep milks), seasonal fruit jam, candied walnuts, honeycomb, fig-almond cake, toasted Palladin bread, and seeded crackers. Sable cookies and assorted macarons complete this delightful feast.
This exclusive package starts at $900 per night, excluding occupancy tax. A 50 percent deposit is required, with a 10-day advance booking request. The last date to book the package is October 20, 2024. Alcoholic beverages are not included, and there is a seven-day cancellation policy before the visit. The final date to enjoy this package is October 30, 2024.
