New Albany police sergeant arrested for felony misconduct, stalking charges

A New Albany Police Department sergeant has been arrested and is facing multiple charges, including official misconduct and stalking.NAPD said that Sgt. Chad Arementa, who has been with the department for more than 18 years, was arrested on Wednesday.The department received information about Arementa's conduct, which led to Indiana State Police conducting a review.Following their review, a warrant was issued and Arementa was arrested.He's charged with two counts of felony official misconduct, felony stalking, criminal trespass, interference in reporting a crime, and harassment.Armenta has been placed on paid administrative leave while an internal review is conducted and the investigation is completed.
