Manitowoc has donated a crane simulator to the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) International Training and Education Center in Crosby, Texas.
The simulator – almost a replica of a crane cab - allows students to practice basic crane operations and become familiar with the controls. It provides a controlled environment allowing instructors to easily communicate with students as they practice Load Moment Indicator (LMI) set up and operation. The crane simulator Chris Treml, IUOE center director said: “We are thrilled to receive this donation from Manitowoc. This partnership has been invaluable, and having permanent access to this simulator is a game changer for our students and instructors.”

“The simulator allows for pre-training on controls and LMIs before students transition to operating real cranes. This ensures that students are well-prepared and confident when they step onto a job site.”
Manitowoc has been involved in IUOE across America and Canada for 20 years, with a Manitowoc crawler crane and All Terrain also joining the training fleet at IUOE in 2022.
