After Sammy Berman struck out the final batter to clinch the Vikings’ 6-2 win over Crofton in a Maryland Class 4A semifinal Tuesday at Shirley Povich Field in Bethesda, smiles quickly gave way to a focus on the unfulfilled task at hand.
