Stock market update: Fertilisers stocks up as market falls

NEW DELHI: Fertilisers shares closed higher in the Tuesday's session.

Sikko Industries Ltd.(up 5.65%), Madras Fertilizers Ltd.(up 3.22%), Rashtriya Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd.(up 2.69%), Krishana Phoschem Ltd.(up 2.47%), Gujarat State Fertilizer & Chemicals Ltd.(up 0.99%), National Fertilizers Ltd.(up 0.84%), Gujarat Narmada Valley Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd.(up 0.77%), The Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Ltd.(up 0.74%), Khaitan Chemicals & Fertilizers Ltd.(up 0.57%) and Chambal Fertilisers & Chemicals Ltd.(up 0.45%) stood among the top gainers.

Bohra Industries Ltd.(down 3.80%), Nagarjuna Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd.(down 1.92%), Zuari Agro Chemicals Ltd.(down 1.87%), Agro Phos India Ltd.(down 1.68%), Aries Agro Ltd.(down 1.12%), Deepak Fertilisers & Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd.(down 0.85%), Coromandel International Ltd.(down 0.78%), Southern Petrochemicals Industries Corporation Ltd.(down 0.33%) and Madhya Bharat Agro Products Ltd.(down 0.29%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 27.05 points up at 22529.05, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 52.63 points at 73953.31.

Hindalco Industries Ltd.(up 5.04%), Coal India Ltd.(up 4.47%), Tata Steel Ltd.(up 3.85%), JSW Steel Ltd.(up 3.67%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(up 3.39%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 2.77%), Cipla Ltd.(up 2.73%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 2.39%), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(up 2.23%) and Adani Enterprises Ltd.(up 1.89%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Nestle India Ltd.(down 1.75%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(down 1.1%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 1.01%), ICICI Bank Ltd.(down 0.87%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.82%), UltraTech Cement Ltd.(down 0.78%), IndusInd Bank Ltd.(down 0.77%), SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 0.71%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd.(down 0.71%) and Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(down 0.68%) closed in the red.
