I faced Man United, Arsenal and Liverpool legends but Chelsea icon was my toughest opponent

When you think of the Golden Age of the Premier League, some strikers instantly come to mind.

Thierry Henry, Wayne Rooney, Alan Shearer, all of whom are legends - but the true loyalists will appreciate those who consistently banged in goals outside of the 'top six' - Darren Bent, Yakubu, Mark Viduka.

Bobby Zamora can safely count himself among that cohort, forging out a fine top-level career at West Ham, Fulham and QPR, playing against some of the best defenders the Premier League has ever seen.

He got the better of Jamie Carragher when he got him sent off in 2009, scoring the opener in a 3-1 win over Liverpool for Fulham, as well as battling Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic at Manchester United.

And in April 2007, Zamora's delightful chip gave West Ham a famous Emirates win as he made mincemeat of Kolo Toure and William Gallas.

But one Chelsea player always managed to get under his skin - and no it wasn't John Terry, but his somewhat underrated partner in crime Ricardo Carvalho.
