A nephew of Gerry ‘The Monk’ Hutch has been found dead at his north inner city Dublin home.

Eddie Hutch Junior, who was in his 40s, was found deceased at a house in Portland Place early today.

It is understood he had been ill for some time and foul play is not suspected.

Mr Hutch was a son of Eddie Hutch senior who was shot dead at his home on Poplar Row, North Strand in Dublin on February 8, 2016, just three days after the Hutch/Kinahan feud exploded following the murder of Kinahan associate David Byrne in what was then the Regency Hotel on February 5, 2016 in Whitehall in Dublin.

Eddie Hutch Snr was a brother of Gerry Hutch.

Eddie Hutch Jnr has also lost cousins to the feud.

His cousin Gary was shot dead in Spain in 2015 in what was seen as the spark that ignited the Hutch/Kinahan feud. The murder of David Byrne, which happened during the botched murder attempt on Kinahan kingpin Daniel Kinahan, was seen as a reprisal attack for the murder of Gary.

Another cousin, Gareth Hutch, was shot dead as he was getting into his car outside Avondale House flats where he lived on North Cumberland Street in inner city Dublin on May 24 2016.

In 2015 Eddie Hutch Jnr was in the limelight when he won more than €30,000 in cash and prizes on the National Lottery’s Winning Streak programme on RTE.

He got his younger brother Ross Hutch to spin the wheel for him.

Eddie Hutch had more than 180 previous convictions for crimes including theft and car break-ins.

A statement from An Garda Siochana said Gardaí at Fitzgibbon were notified following the discovery of a body of a male in his late 40s in a residential property in Portland Place, Dublin 1 earlier today.
