A shooting on Saturday killed a woman and child and injured two more children in Caswell County.

According to the Caswell County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a shots fired call at a home on the 8100 block of Cherry Grove Road.

When they arrived, they found four victims inside with gunshot wounds. Two of the victims, 37-year-old Danielle Hines, and a child, died at the scene. Authorities transported two more children inside the home to the hospital.

The suspect, later identified as 36-year-old Anthony Lamont Siler, ran from the scene in a vehicle before deputies arrived at the scene.

Siler was later stopped in Alamance County by sheriff’s deputies and died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Authorities did not state a motive for the shooting and said their thoughts are with the families of the victims.
