GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING a serious stabbing near Jervis Street Luas Stop in Dublin city centre, sources have confirmed.
Sources have said that the incident happened shortly after 4pm with one man being taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Gardaí have sealed off the area for a forensic examination and Luas operators closed services on the Red Line between Smithfield and The Point/Connolly for a time.
A garda spokesperson said: “Shortly after 4pm on Sunday, 19th May 2024, Gardaí were alerted to an incident on Liffey Street.
“A male in his late teens injured during the incident and was found on Jervis Street. He was transported by ambulance to the Mater Hospital, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The scene was examined by local scene of crime officers and Jervis Street has since fully reopened to traffic.
