Arsenal scored a last-gasp winner against Everton at the Emirates through Kai Havertz but it meant nothing as City were already ahead.

At full-time, the Gunners stars looked shattered emotionally and physically. Even Saka, who failed a late fitness test and missed out on the squad.

The England international, who has scored 20 times and assisted 14 this season, held his face in his hands in emotional scenes at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

"All this is happening because you started believing, you started to be patient and started to understand what we tried to do. All the credit has to go to the players and the staff," he said.

"Don't be satisfied. We want much more than that and we’re going to get it."

Arsenal's day got off to a dreary start when it emerged that Phil Foden had scored a quick double, including an opener inside two minutes, to give City a 2-0 lead against West Ham.

And that misery was compounded further when Idrissa Gana Gueye opened the scoring for Everton with a deflected free-kick.
