The sports club “War of Arms” from the Autonomous University of Baja California in Tijuana on Friday held the first day of its inaugural arm wrestling tournament. The event, on the campus, continues Saturday.

The tournament features different categories — from junior to senior and male and female ages 18 to 30. Organizers said they expect about 500 competitors. Friday was for university students; Saturday will be for professionals and the general public.

The tournament is endorsed by the National Mexico Federation of Arm Wrestlers and the Association of Arm Wrestling in Baja California.
