In the age of so-called weight-loss miracle jabs, are TV programmes like RTÉ’s Operation Transformation past their sell-by date?

RTÉ announced yesterday that the diet and lifestyle show that ran for 17 years and had a big following as hundreds of thousands of viewers tuned in every new season will not return, as part of a “refresh and renew” programming drive.
