Eight killed, 38 injured in farmworker bus crash in rural Florida

The bus crashed into a Ford Ranger truck shortly after sunrise. Fifty-three farmworkers are believed to have been on the bus at the time of the collision.

A bus carrying farmworkers crashed in rural Florida on Tuesday, killing eight people and injuring another 38, officials said.

Roger Waddell, a spokesman for Marion County, said eight of those transported to local hospitals are listed in critical condition. Thirty people remain hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, according to a county press release.
