A Frankfort man is looking forward to his retirement after a $1 million scratch off win. The Kentucky lottery said the man, who wishes to remain anonymous, told them he couldn't believe it when he saw he won. The man bought the $30 Mega Millionaire Scratch-off ticket on April 28 on US 127 Hwy South Kroger in Frankfort.He had scanned the ticket's barcode before scratching it off when he got a message that read "see KLC Corp." “I said, ‘well this is going to be a pretty good one,’” the man told lottery officials.That's when he scratched the ticket and saw his three numbers matched the $1 million top prize.“I thought I was dreaming, and I was going to wake up,” he said.The man said he went to his daughter's house to make sure he was reading it correctly. “When I walked in, I handed her the ticket. ‘Look at this, am I dreaming?’” he asked. “I looked at it, and said, ‘does that really say a million?’” his daughter said. He claimed the lump sum cash payment at the lottery headquarters in Louisville the next day. “I’ve been planning to retire but didn’t have the financial means to do it and now I do,” he said. He said he will pay off his house and he looks forward to golfing more in his spare time.The Frankfort man received $627,120 after taxes and looks forward to enjoying retired life.
