A DRIVER has been fined after being caught driving through a red traffic light.

Keith Bernard, of North Hinksey Lane, Oxford, was caught on December 4 last year running through a traffic light at a busy London junction.

The 58-year-old was caught by police ignoring the traffic signal at the junctions between Upper Thames Street and Queen Street Place.

He was charged under the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988 and appeared at Bromley Magistrates’ Court on May 4 where he pleaded guilty.

Bernard was fined £247 for the offence and had three penalty points added to his driving record.

There were also court costs of £98 and a victim surcharge.

The total amount he will need to pay is £455 by the start of June.
