Fire damages sushi restaurant in Pacific Beach

Fire caused an estimated $300,000 in damage to a restaurant in Pacific Beach Monday, the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department said.
The fire at Zen 5 Sushi on Garnet Avenue near Dawes Street was reported shortly before 2 a.m. and brought under control about 20 minutes later, according to the department.
Crews responded to the restaurant fire on the first level of a mixed-use building and prevented the flames from spreading to the residences above.
There were no injuries reported. Two adults and three children were displaced.
The fire caused an estimated $200,000 in structural damage and about $100,000 in other damage to the restaurant, according to the department.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
