Harry Kane saluted Bayern Munich fans in their final home game of the season, despite missing out through injury.

The England captain would have been desperate to feature in the 2-0 win over Wolfsburg after chasing down Robert Lewandowski's Bundesliga goal record.

Kane has scored an incredible 44 goals in 45 games in all competitions during his first season since swapping Tottenham for Germany.

However, none of those goals failed to help the striker end his trophy drought and he is now set to miss out on his greatest individual accomplishment.

Kane was just five goals shy of levelling Lewandowski's legendary haul of 41 Bundesliga strikes with just two top-flight matches remaining.

However, his ongoing back problems ruled him out of Bayern's penultimate match of a disappointing campaign.

Even if Kane recovers in time to face Hoffenheim next Saturday he will need a double hat-trick to make the record his own.

The Three Lions striker tried not to let his fitness issues hamper Bayern's post-match celebration in front of their own fans.

Having watched the win over Wolfsburg from the sidelines, Kane came onto the pitch at full-time with three of his four children.

His daughters Ivy and Vivienne, alongside son Louis were decked out in full Bayern kits and headphones to protect against the noise in the Allianz Arena.
