That is why people remember Lakshmibai as one of the people who fought for our country's independence.

She was born on 19 november 1828 in the city of Varanasi. Her birth name was manikarnika Tambe and she was fondly called manu by her family members. people still remember rani Lakshmibai's struggle against british rule in India.
