Tamnar project: Sangod land for compensatory afforestation

Panaji: The department of forests has notified 17.22 ha of forest land in the Sangod village of Dharbandora taluka as reserved forest for raising compensatory afforestation in lieu of diversion of 78.29 ha of land for construction of the Tamnar transmission line.

The area comprises survey no. 21/1, 22/1, and 24/1-A of the Sangod village in Dharbandora taluka.

“The government proposes to constitute the said land as reserved forest as stipulated in the Forest Conservation Act (FCA), 1980, for raising compensatory afforestation in lieu of diversion of 78.29 ha of land for construction of 400 KV D/C Xeldem to Mapusa transmission line and Xeldem to Xeldem (existing) 220 KV HTLS D/C transmission line in favour of M/s Goa Tamnar Transmission Project Ltd,” said the notification issued by the state government.

The government of Goa will constitute the said land as a reserved forest.

The forest settlement officer, North Goa, will be appointed to inquire into and determine the existence, nature, and extent of any rights alleged to exist in favour of any person in or over any land comprised within such limits or in or over any forest produce and to deal with the same, as provided in Chapter II of the said Act.
