Manchester United vs Arsenal LIVE: Premier League team news and line-ups as Bruno Fernandes misses out

The big news is that Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford miss out on the squad.

Amad Diallo is given his first Premier League start of the season for Manchester United with Sofyan Amrabat and Scott McTominay also slotting into the team.

Arsenal, meanwhile, name the same starting XI from their 3-0 win against Bournemouth last-time out. Takehiro Tomiyasu and Bukayo Saka were doubts in midweek but have recovered in time to start.

“You see the fans on Monday, they were our example. That is what I told the players,” said Erik ten Hag when explaining how valuable Man Utd’s fans have been this season.

“They backed us and I think they see how we struggle and they see the problems we have. So they have a very good understanding about all the injuries that we have and we struggle but they are backing the team so I am very pleased with them.”

“I can only talk about what I think about him as a coach. He’s an excellent coach. I admire his teams, both Ajax and United,” Arteta replied when asked about Ten Hag’s position.

“I know what he’s trying to do, I know how he does it, I know how difficult it is to prepare against him, so I have huge respect for him.

“Hopefully, yes, he gets the time because we are colleagues and we know how difficult it is in this league and what the margins are and yeah, hopefully that’s the case because I think he is an excellent coach.

“If you want to win the Premier League and big trophies, you have to go to these grounds and impose yourself and beat them. That’s the journey we are on and that’s for sure what we are going to try to do on Sunday.”

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta believes Manchester United counterpart Erik ten Hag is an excellent coach who deserves more time to get things right at Old Trafford.

United host the title-chasing Gunners on Sunday – the penultimate weekend of the Premier League season.

Against no side has Bukayo Saka been involved in more Premier League goals than against Man Utd (5), registering a goal or assist in each of his last four.

The United boss spoke about how he’s feeling about taking on Arsenal saying: “We know they are one of the best teams or probably the best team.

“You can discuss about this. Is City the best team or is Arsenal at this moment the best team?

“Very ball secure, so very good structures and we know we have to play absolutely to our maximum levels to get a result. But we are capable of it.”

Erik ten Hag has admitted that the FA Cup final at the end of May is on his mind but insists that he has been preparing his team to win today’s match against Arsenal.

He said: “We always go in a game to win and not preparing for next game. Of course it [the cup final] is at the back of my mind but we want to put out a team that is competitive for Sunday and a team that is eager to win and produce the best team for Sunday to win that game.”

Having lost four of their first nine home Premier League games this season, Man Utd have since lost just one of their last eight at Old Trafford.

Across the last three Premier League seasons, the Red Devils have won just two of their 10 Premier League games against sides starting the day in the top two.
