TAMPA, Fla. – Jean (Anderson) Gentile, 96, entered the gates of Heaven on May 6, 2024, from the comfort of her nursing care home in Tampa, Fla., and where she resided for the past several years with her family. She was the loving wife of the late Frank Gentile for 56 years, who passed away in 2017.
Jean was born in Waterbury, Conn., on Dec. 4, 1927. She was a graduate of Wilby High School and dedicated most of her life as a homemaker, working as a parish secretary at the First Congregational Church in Waterbury and as treasurer of Southmayd Home. Jean’s passion was spending time taking care of her family and quality time with her friends, especially in her retirement years while enjoying time in Wells, Maine, where she and Frank spent multiple summers.
She leaves behind her two children, David Gentile and his wife Patty and her son Kyle Lance, and Barbara (Gentile) Ross and her husband Norman; grandchildren Nathan and Alex. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews.
Jean was a beautiful angel and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Funeral arrangements are being handled in Tampa and burial will be in Waterbury at the convenience of her family.
