Vincent Kompany tells Burnley players not to ‘sulk’ after being relegated from Premier League

Burnley have been relegated from the Premier League.

The Clarets lasted just one season in the top flight with their fate sealed thanks to a 2-1 defeat against Tottenham.

Vincent Kompany's side had been hoping to cling on and took the lead through Jacob Bruun Larsen in north London.

But that lead lasted just seven minutes as Pedro Porro leveled the game, before Micky van de Ven gave Spurs the lead after 82 minutes.

Having lost just twice in their previous nine matches, Burnley fans had been hoping that their side could make a late move to secure their Premier League survival.

But a 2-1 defeat against Tottenham has sealed their fate, while also keeping Spurs' hopes of securing Champions League football alive.
