Closing arguments could happen Friday for the trial in a federal lawsuit challenging North Carolina's new voter identification law. A civil rights group alleges its photo requirement unlawfully harms Black and Latino voters.
Civil rights leader, and former state NAACP president, Rev. William Barber could take the stand Friday to testify for the plaintiffs.
Supporters of the new law said voter ID will stop fraud. Opponents said the law's real intent is to disenfranchise minority voters.
The trial, which began Monday, is expected to last 10 days.
