Domestic benchmark index NSE Nifty gained 71.6 points to 22029.1, while the BSE Sensex traded 149.78 points up at 72553.95.
On the other hand, Vijaya Diagnostic, Hindustan Zinc, Commercial Engg, Honeywell and Tara Chand Logistic stocks hit their fresh 52-week highs today.
In the Nifty 50 index, BPCL, Hero MotoCorp, Asian Paints, HDFC Life and NTPC were among the top gainers on the NSE.
Infosys, TCS, LTIMindtree, Grasim Inds. and M&M were among the top losers.
