NUMBER ON OUR WEBSITE AND THE FREE WLKY MOBILE APP. TONIGHT WAS ORIENTATION FOR THE INAUGURAL CLASS OF YOUTH AMBASSADORS LEADING LOUISVILLE. THE PROGRAM, ALSO REFERRED TO AS Y’ALL, INVOLVES DOZENS OF STUDENTS FROM PUBLIC, CATHOLIC AND INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS ACROSS THE CITY. TWO STUDENTS FROM EACH HIGH SCHOOL WERE SELECTED TO TAKE PART. THEY WILL ENGAGE WITH THE MAYOR’S OFFICE AND ASSIST WITH COMMUNITY EVENTS SUCH AS HIKE, BIKE AND PADDLE AND WORLD FEST. TODAY’S GATHERING WAS AN OPPORTUNITY FOR THE STUDENTS TO MEET ONE ANOTHER AND LEARN MORE ABOUT THE PROGRAM. WE WANT YOUR BRAINS. WE WANT YOUR IDEAS. WE WANT YOUR ENERGY, YOUR EXCITEMENT, YOUR THOUGHTS ON HOW WE CAN MOVE OUR CITY FORWARD. MOVE IT FORWARD THROUGH THE EVENTS THAT WE DO, AND IF THERE’S OTHER INPUT THAT YOU ALL WANT TO GIVE US AS WELL, WE ARE ALL EARS BECAUSE WE TRULY BELIEVE THAT YOUNG PEOPLE HAVE SO MANY GREAT IDEAS THAT ARE OFTEN NOT LISTENED TO. Thursday was the orientation for the inaugural class of the Youth Ambassadors Leading Louisville.The program involves dozens of students from public, Catholic and independent schools across the city.Two students from each high school were selected to take part.Students will engage with the mayor's office and assist with community events, such as the Hike, Bike and Paddle, and Worldfest.Thursday's gathering was an opportunity for the students to meet one another and learn more about the program."We want your brains.
