Stormy Daniels finishes testimony, judge again denies Trump lawyers’ mistrial request

On Tuesday, Daniels described what at times sounded like nonconsensual sex with Trump. Testifying Thursday, she faced combative questioning from Trump’s attorneys, who portrayed her as someone prone to making up stories.

Trump is under a gag order in the case meant to prevent him from talking about witnesses, jurors and others. The judge has said Trump violated the gag order 10 times so far, and he fined and warned him that he could face jail time if it continues.

The trial is not being televised. The Washington Post has reporters in the courtroom and media overflow room who are posting live updates.

Trump faces 34 counts of falsifying business records related to his reimbursement of longtime lawyer Michael Cohen for a hush money payment made to Daniels shortly before the 2016 presidential election to keep her from sharing her account publicly. He has pleaded not guilty.
