Stock market update: Mining stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Mining stocks were trading lower on Thursday at 09:58AM

Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd.(up 0.50%) and Ashapura Minechem Ltd.(up 0.07%) were among the top gainers.

KIOCL Ltd.(down 1.84%), Oriental Trimex Ltd.(down 1.78%), Lexus Granito(India)Ltd.(down 1.74%), NMDC Ltd.(down 1.02%), Coal India Ltd.(down 1.01%), The Orissa Minerals Development Company Ltd.(down 0.99%), MOIL Ltd.(down 0.78%), Aro Granite Industries Ltd.(down 0.57%), Madhav Marbles & Granites Ltd.(down 0.48%) and Sandur Manganese & Iron Ores Ltd.(down 0.44%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 75.85 points down at 22226.65, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 251.42 points at 73214.97 at around 09:58AM.

Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 5.79%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 3.08%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 2.57%), Tata Motors Ltd.(up 1.4%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(up 1.25%), Eicher Motors Ltd.(up 1.06%), Titan Company Ltd.(up 1.03%), HCL Technologies Ltd.(up 0.67%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(up 0.5%) and State Bank of India(up 0.42%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Larsen & Toubro Ltd.(down 3.5%), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 2.03%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 1.48%), Tech Mahindra Ltd.(down 1.47%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 1.44%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(down 1.42%), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 1.27%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.23%), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(down 1.12%) and Nestle India Ltd.(down 1.1%) were trading in the red.
