McMillan: Three cheers to our local organizations for support of non-profits

Three cheers to the community organizations that support local non-profits! Thank you to the Aspen Thrift Shop, Rotary Club of Aspen, Aspen Elks Lodge No. 224, and The City of Aspen for the grant money they bestowed ,which helps support the Aspen Hall of Fame’s mission.

Many individuals and corporate sponsors also contribute each year, and thanks to them, our all-volunteer board is able to keep the cost of attending our annual induction banquet at the Hotel Jerome within an affordable range, as well as produce short films about each inductee that preserve their legacy.

This year, over 220 people who had never attended an Aspen Hall of Fame banquet attended screenings of videos about past inductees, and many more watched the live stream of this year’s event.

The Aspen Hall of Fame’s mission is to honor those who have “given back” to our community in very significant ways and to inspire others to follow in their footsteps. The films, which illustrate how the members of the Hall of Fame have contributed to Aspen, are funded by the community grants we’ve been fortunate to receive.

A big thank you to each of the community organizations and our individual and family donors who helped support our cause.
