Kucharczyk: Midland Avenue project will come to screeching halt with ‘Yes’ vote

Basalt voters need to vote “No” on Issue No. 1.

If the amendment passes, the project will be stopped until it goes through the courts, new plans are drawn, and more arguments are made about the streetscape — which all adds up to a lot more money paid by taxpayers.

During the coming year, downtown Basalt will stay dug up with one-way traffic. Businesses will definitely suffer, all because of this amendment.

Enough of this insanity. Vote “No,” and let’s move Basalt forward, not backward.
