The Weld RE-4 School District needs volunteers for a focus group to help cultivate the brand of the new middle school opening in fall 2025.

Students, parents, staff and community members can apply to join the focus group, which will make recommendations for the school name, logo, mascot, colors and cultural development, according to a Weld RE-4 news release.

Josh Mallicoat, the principal of the forthcoming school will review and interview, if needed, candidates before forming the group.

Those interested must apply online before 12 p.m. May 21 by going to bit.ly/CR15MSFocus24.

The new middle school, located on Weld County Road 15 in Windsor, will serve 900 students in a 154,864-square-foot space. The school’s features will include:

  • 300-student Small Learning Communities, or grade-level “pods”
  • An innovation commons and design lab
  • Culinary and industrial arts classroom
  • Outdoor classrooms and community gardens
  • Sports fields, a track, an outdoor play area and tennis courts

The district also solicits ideas from the larger community for the school’s name, mascot and colors to help the focus group’s efforts. Weld RE-4 asks people to share their ideas online by May 21 at bit.ly/CR15MSBranding24.
