Eurowings, part of the Lufthansa Group, has launched a new route from Hannover to Milan Bergamo Airport, starting on May 6. This service boosts connections between Italy and Hannover, a key hub for business and trade fairs in Germany, appealing to both tourists and business travelers.
The route will initially offer flights twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, with plans to increase to four times a week starting September 4, adding Wednesday and Sunday flights. These flights will be serviced by the Airbus A320 aircraft from Eurowings’ fleet.
This new service from Hannover enhances Eurowings’ existing routes from Dusseldorf to Milan Bergamo, broadening the airport’s network and providing passengers with more versatile travel options.
Hannover is a major venue for international trade fairs, making this route essential for professionals and exhibitors from Northern Italy attending these events. Additionally, the service facilitates tourism and cultural exchanges, strengthening economic ties between Italy and Germany. It offers greater access to Lombardy’s rich cultural heritage and picturesque landscapes, likely boosting tourist visits.
“Today’s launch of our first E190-E2 would not have been possible without the support of our partners and unwavering commitment of all our staff to ensure a successful entry into service. The E190-E2, with its modern operating capabilities and fuel-efficient credentials, was a natural choice as we looked to grow Scoot’s fleet. We are confident that with this new-generation aircraft, we will continue to strengthen our presence in the region, enhance our connectivity to non-metro destinations and provide our customers with even more memorable travel experiences.” said Scoot Chief Executive Officer, Leslie Thng.
Milan Bergamo Airport now offers extensive connectivity to Germany, featuring flights to eight cities including Berlin, Cologne, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Karlsruhe Baden/Baden, Frankfurt Hahn, and Weeze, totaling 46 weekly flights. This network underscores Milan Bergamo’s commitment to providing diverse and convenient travel options for its customers.
