BREAKING NEWS. GOOD EVENING. I’M LAUREN ADAMS. WE BEGIN TONIGHT WITH BREAKING NEWS. OUR CREW IS IN THE SOUTH SIDE NEIGHBORHOOD, WHERE A DRIVE BY SHOOTING LEFT TWO, INCLUDING A YOUNG CHILD, INJURED. LAUREN, AS YOU CAN SEE BEHIND ME, THERE’S STILL SEVERAL POLICE CARS HERE AS WELL AS CRIME SCENE TAPE BLOCKING THE ENTRANCE TO THESE UNITS. WE’VE BEEN WATCHING AS POLICE HAVE BEEN MAKING THEIR WAY THROUGH THE PARKING LOT HERE, CANVASING THE AREA. AND HERE’S WHAT WE KNOW RIGHT NOW. WE JUST RECEIVED AN UPDATE FROM LMPD ABOUT WHAT EXACTLY HAS BEEN HAPPENING OUT HERE. WE’RE TOLD THAT THEY WERE CALLED HERE NEAR AROUND 930 THIS EVENING TO THE 100 BLOCK OF KINGSTON AVENUE. WHEN THEY ARRIVED, THEY FOUND A EIGHT YEAR OLD WHO HAD BEEN SHOT AS A RESULT OF A DRIVE BY SHOOTING. THAT EIGHT YEAR OLD WAS TAKEN TO NORTON CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL AND AN ADULT MALE WAS ALSO TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL WITH NON-LIFE THREATENING INJURIES. THE LMPD NONFATAL SQUAD IS CURRENTLY INVESTIGATING. Louisville Metro Police are investigating after a double shooting involving an 8-year-old in the Southside neighborhood.According to officers, it happened just before 9:30 p.m. in the 100 block of E. Louisville Metro Police are investigating after a double shooting involving an 8-year-old in the Southside neighborhood.

According to officers, it happened just before 9:30 p.m. in the 100 block of E. Kingston Avenue.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found an 8-year-old boy and man who had both been shot in what police say appeared to be a drive-by shooting.

The 8-year-old was taken to Norton Children's Hospital and the man was taken to UofL Hospital.

LMPD says both are expected to survive.

No arrests have been made.
