Wake deputies looking into homicide near Raleigh

The Wake County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a homicide investigation on Monday after a woman was found dead in a wooded area.

Around 11:15 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a dead person outside of a home in the 3700 block of Camley Avenue in an unincorporated part of Raleigh.

Deputies found a woman's body. Crime scene tape was posted in the yards of two homes across the street from each other. The street was still blocked off at 6 p.m.

Deputies are investigating the case as a homicide after initially calling it a death investigation. The circumstances are still unclear.
