Stock market update: Power stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Power stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 10:19AM

Jyoti Structures Ltd.(up 4.89%), CESC Ltd.(up 4.25%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 4.15%), GE T&D India Ltd.(up 3.05%), KPI Green Energy Ltd.(up 2.81%), Transformers & Rectifiers(India)Ltd.(up 2.38%), Indo Tech Transformers Ltd.(up 2.21%), JSW Energy Ltd.(up 2.18%), Power and Instrumentation(Gujarat)Ltd.(up 1.96%) and NHPC Ltd.(up 1.82%) were among the top gainers.

Adani Energy Solutions Ltd.(down 1.34%), Reliance Power Ltd.(down 1.10%), Adani Green Energy Ltd.(down 1.10%), Orient Green Power Company Ltd.(down 0.96%), Torrent Power Ltd.(down 0.95%), Hitachi Energy India Ltd.(down 0.72%), Adani Power Ltd.(down 0.67%), KEC International Ltd.(down 0.38%), Kalpataru Projects International Ltd.(down 0.23%) and Energy Development Company Ltd.(down 0.20%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 69.61 points up at 22674.45, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 231.52 points at 74714.3 at around 10:19AM.

Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(up 4.18%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 2.82%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(up 1.96%), Bajaj Auto Ltd.(up 1.93%), Asian Paints Ltd.(up 1.51%), Hero MotoCorp Ltd.(up 1.43%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(up 1.4%), Tata Steel Ltd.(up 1.25%), Grasim Industries Ltd.(up 1.24%) and Tata Motors Ltd.(up 1.08%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 3.88%), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(down 1.7%), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.22%), Bharti Airtel Ltd.(down 1.17%), HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(down 1.08%), Wipro Ltd.(down 1.03%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 0.77%), Hindalco Industries Ltd.(down 0.58%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd.(down 0.54%) and Titan Company Ltd.(down 0.48%) were trading in the red.
