Amid Mount Ruang’s eruptions, Malaysia Airlines disclosed flight updates: cancellations, rescheduling, offering insights into air travel challenges.
Yesterday, Malaysia Airlines disclosed updates to its flight operations due to the volcanic eruptions at Mount Ruang. The carrier confirmed the reinstatement and rescheduling of various flights, alongside several cancellations effective immediately.
On May 1, Malaysia Airlines will resume services between Kuala Lumpur and Sabah, with adjusted times. Flights MH2660D departing from Kuala Lumpur to Tawau, previously MH2660, and MH2661D from Tawau to Kuala Lumpur, previously MH2661, are part of the reinstated schedule.
The airline also plans to adjust the timings of flights between Kuala Lumpur and Labuan on the same day, which includes MH2608 and MH2609.
However, a number of flights will continue to be suspended until further notice. These include services to and from Sandakan, Miri, and Sibu with specific flight numbers MH2710, MH2711, MH2668, MH2669, MH2594, MH2593, MH2574, MH2575, MH2716, and MH2715 being affected.
Malaysia Airlines is providing support to impacted passengers, offering them one-time itinerary changes free of charge or a full refund, regardless of their original fare conditions.
