Fawad Ahmed Hussain Chaudhry, former Federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting Pakistan, has praised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi a year after his former boss Imran Khan lauded Narendra Modi of the BJP.
New Delhi/Islamabad: Fawad Ahmed Hussain Chaudhry, former Federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting Pakistan, has praised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi a year after his former boss Imran Khan lauded Narendra Modi of the BJP.
Fawad Chaudhry shared a video clip of Rahul Gandhi’s speech at an election rally on social media platform X.
“Rahul on fire …”, he wrote while retweeting the video showing Rahul Gandhi addressing the rally.
Fawad Chaudhry’s social media post comes in the midst of the 2024 Parliamentary Elections underway in India to elect the 18th Lok Sabha.
Chaudhry is not the only Pakistani politicians commenting on their counterparts in India. Earlier, his own former boss and ex-Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan had praised Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
BJP fumes
Forgetting the fact that Imran Khan had praised Modi - not once but on multiple times, the BJP leaders, including Narendra Modi himself, are using Fawad Chaudhry’s social media platform to target the Congress Party.
“You must have heard Pakistani leaders are praying for the Congress and Pakistan is eager to make the 'shehzada' the Prime Minister”, Modi said while addressing an election rally in Anand, Gujarat.
PM Modi, who is seeking votes for a third term in office, frequently uses ‘shehzada’ jibe for Rahul Gandhi.
"We know that the Congress is a disciple of Pakistan. This partnership of Pakistan and the Congress has now been completely exposed”, Modi accused.
Earlier, BJP IT Cell Chief Amit Malviya, too had criticised the Congress over Choudhry’s social media post.
"Ch Fawad Hussain, who served in the Imran Khan cabinet, as Minister for Information and Broadcasting, is promoting Rahul Gandhi. Is the Congress planning to contest election in Pakistan?" Malviya wrote on X.
In the video shared by Fawad Chaudhry and viewed by over 1.6 million people, Rahul Gandhi can be heard criticising the BJP, particularly targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The video clip shared by Chaudhry focuses on Rahul Gandhi's repeated accusations that the Modi government is working for just few of its corporate friends, and not the poor.
