Stock market update: Nifty IT index advances 0.04% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded positive around 10:49AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.

Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(up 0.74 per cent), MphasiS Ltd.(up 0.66 per cent), Persistent Systems Ltd.(up 0.33 per cent), LTIMindtree Ltd.(up 0.31 per cent) and Tech Mahindra Ltd.(up 0.19 per cent) were among the top gainers.

Coforge Ltd.(down 1.09 per cent), Wipro Ltd.(down 0.97 per cent), L&T Technology Services Ltd.(down 0.47 per cent) and Infosys Ltd.(down 0.14 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was up 0.04 per cent at 33213.75 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 72.61 points at 22677.45, while the BSE Sensex was up 231.22 points at 74714.0.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 33 were trading in the green, while 17 were in the red.

Shares of Vodafone Idea, YES Bank, NHPC, REC and JP Power were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Ram Ratna Wire, Geojit Financial, Uravi T and Wedge, Hindustan Motor and REC hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while Adroit Infotech (PP), Kotak Bank, Osia Hyper Retail, Keerti Knowledge and Gloster hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
