Sensex climbs to 74,671 points, Nifty settles above 22,640 mark
On Monday, the benchmark Sensex and Nifty indices saw gains. While the Sensex rose by 1.28% to end at 74,671.28 points, the Nifty jumped 1% to finish at 22,643.4 points. Who were the biggest winners and losers?
As far as the top sector gainers are concerned, NIFTY PSU BANK, NIFTY BANK, and NIFTY PVT BANK topped the list, edging up 2.5%, 2.47%, and 2.12%, respectively. The top stock gainers were ICICI Bank, IndusInd Bank, and UltraTechCement, which climbed 4.43%, 2.94%, and 2.88%, respectively. Biggest stock losers were HCL Tech, Apollo Hospitals, and Bajaj Auto, which plunged 5.86%, 4.51%, and 2.42%, respectively.

Coming to the Asian markets, both the Shanghai Composite Index and Nikkei traded in red, slipping to 3,113.04 points and 37,934.76 points, respectively. Meanwhile, Hang Seng jumped 0.54% to 17,746.91 points. In the US, NASDAQ traded in the green, advancing 2.03% to 15,927.9 points.
INR goes down 0.13% against the US Dollar
On Monday, the Indian Rupee (INR) edged 0.13% lower to ₹83.47 versus the US Dollar in the forex trade. On the other hand, the gold future prices were flat at ₹71,635, while the silver prices climbed 0.27% to ₹80,898. The crude oil futures were trading flat to settle at $83.67 per barrel.
Fuel prices in Delhi and Mumbai
Fuel prices in Delhi remain unchanged on Monday with diesel priced at ₹87.66 per liter, and petrol at ₹94.76 per liter. Meanwhile, in Mumbai, diesel costs ₹92.13 per liter, and petrol is priced at ₹104.19 per liter.
