Rafah (Gaza Strip): In a touching video, Palestinians trapped in Rafah have expressed their gratitude to the university students across America for standing in solidarity with them in the wake of the brutality they are facing at the hands of the Zionist Israeli forces.
The students in the university campuses across the United States are protesting against the Israeli murderous and genocidal military offensive in Gaza that has killed more than 34,000 civilians – majority of them women and children, since Oct 7, and the brazen American support.
The Israeli Occupation Forces have also injured more than 80,000 Palestinians – again over 80% of them women and children.
Besides, the Israeli blockade of Gaza has left close to 2.5 million Palestinians without drinking water, food, medicines and other essentials.
By round the clock bombing of the besieged enclave, the Israeli Occupation Forces have also turned into debris close to 40% area of Gaza, demolishing residential buildings, hospitals, colleges, schools, universities and even mosques and churches.
Shaken by the human and material losses seen in Gaza, the students, including those who are Jews, and the faculty members, in a number of American universities are protesting against the far right Israeli government and the American government for its support – diplomatic, monetary and military, to the Israeli Occupation Forces.
In a strong show of solidarity with the Palestinians, the students in many university campuses have installed tents and staying there – the way close to 1.4 million Palestinians have been forced to live in Rafah after their homes were bombed upon by the Israeli forces.
University administration in some campuses, in a first in recent history, called in the Police who demolished the tents and arrested a number of students in order to suppress their protests against Israel and the Biden administration.
The students however hold ground and remain unfazed albeit brutal use of force used against them by the US Police in some university campuses.
Touched by the determination of the American university students, the Palestinians have expressed their gratitude to them.
“Thank you students in solidarity with Gaza. You message has reached”, Palestinians in Rafah wrote on a tent.
“Thank You Students for Columbia (sic)”, another tent of the displaced Palestinians in Rafah shows.
Columbia University students were among the first to stand in solidarity with the Palestinians and against the Israeli Occupation Forces and the American government’s funding of the Gaza war.

The arrest of some 108 students of the university was a trigger point, leading the pro-Palestine protest spread to other campuses including Harvard, Emory, MIT, Yale, George Washington and others.
“Thank You, American Universities”, another Rafah tent says.
Meanwhile, the students protesting against Israeli war in Gaza and American support to it shut down the entrance to the White House Correspondents' Dinner Saturday.
On Sunday, students at Washington University in St. Louis formed a human chain to protect their Gaza solidarity encampment even as the Police used force to dismantle their tents.
