    NIA questions 2 suspects in Salman Khan's shooting case

    What's the story

    The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has questioned the two suspects, Sagar Pal (21) and Vicky Gupta (24), regarding the recent shooting incident outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan's Mumbai residence. The event occurred on April 14 and is currently under active investigation. Both Pal and Gupta were detained shortly after the incident at Khan's Galaxy Apartments and remain in custody.

    News agency ANI reported on Friday morning that the NIA had questioned the two accused. According to the Mumbai Police, five rounds were fired by Gupta and Pal outside Khan's residence. The pair had reportedly surveyed the actor's house three times before executing their plan. The duo was detained in Bhuj, Gujarat on April 15 and were transported to Mumbai for interrogation. Originally sent to custody till Thursday, their custody was extended by Mumbai's Esplanade Courttill next Monday (April 29).

    New arrests

    2 more were arrested for supplying firearms 

    In a related development, the Mumbai Crime Branch arrested two individuals from Punjab, Sonu Subhash Chander and Anuj Thapan, on Thursday. They are suspected of supplying firearms to Pal and Gupta for the shooting incident. It is also believed that Chander and Thapan have connections with the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

    Anmol, brother of Lawrence Bishnoi, claimed responsibility of the act

    Anmol Bishnoi, sibling of the infamous incarcerated criminal Bishnoi, claimed responsibility for the shooting on Facebook shortly after it occurred. A look-out circular has also been issued for Anmol, who reportedly stays abroad. According to News 18, Anmol had advanced the shooters ₹1 lakh with an additional ₹3 lakh promised upon completion of the shooting.

    Gupta, Pal discarded their firearms into river; police recovered them

    During questioning, Gupta and Pal admitted that they discarded their firearms into Gujarat's Tapi River while escaping to Bhuj by train. A weapon and several live rounds were later retrieved from the river by the police. Reportedly, both the accused were carrying weapons but only one gun was recovered.
