The state government has eased the rules on liquor transportation for personal consumption during the dry days for the approaching Lok Sabha 2024 elections on May 7.
The notification issued for the purpose says that, the maximum quantity of liquor which can be possessed by a person
without permit and in accordance with the provisions of the Goa Excise Duty Act, 1964, is three quart bottles of Indian made foreign liquor (IMFL) or foreign liquor other than beer, six bottles of beer of 650 ml. for any person including his family, and three quart bottles of country liquor.
The state is set to have three dry days from 6 pm of May 5, till the
midnight of May 7, and on June 4, in view of polling and counting of
votes for the General Elections.
While liquor movement is not permitted in the state during the dry days, the government has
clarified on the quantity of liquor which can be in the possession of individuals for private consumption.
