    Acclaimed actor Ayushmann Khurrana, known for his roles in distinctive comedies like Vicky Donor and Bala, is set to collaborate with Karan Johar's Dharma Productions for a new project in 2024, reported Pinkvilla. If true, this will mark Khurrana's first venture with the esteemed production house. The yet-to-be-titled film, described as a "unique spy comedy," will be produced by Johar and Guneet Monga and directed by Aakash Kaushik.

    Insiders close to the project told the portal, "Karan and Guneet have been very excited about this subject as the script has shaped up well with a perfect blend of espionage elements with comedy." "The script tick marks all the boxes of a commercial film as it has scale, thrill, and action with a lot of comedy, and the trio of Karan, Guneet, and Aakash feel that Ayushmann fits the character to the T."

    Meanwhile, Sara Ali Khan is reportedly in final discussions to play the female lead opposite Khurrana. "The film goes on floors in a couple of months and the official announcement with title is around the corner. The makers are in advanced stages of discussion with Sara Ali Khan to play the female lead," revealed the source. Preparations are currently underway, and the filmmakers are gearing up to commence filming by June.

    Kaushik, renowned for his contributions as a writer in various comedy films, is poised to make his directorial debut with this upcoming spy comedy. Meanwhile, over the past year, Johar and Monga have announced their collaboration on the Hindi adaptation of the French classic The Intouchables. Additionally, they joined forces for Kill, directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and is set to release in Indian theaters on July 5.

    Anees Bazmee, currently occupied with directing the highly anticipated third installment of Bhool Bhulaiyaa, is reportedly considering Khurrana for his next eerie project, titled Bhootiyapa. A few days ago, an insider close to the project shared with Mid-Day, "Despite their busy schedules, both Khurrana and Bazmee are determined to make Bhootiyapa a reality. Other details are being worked out." To note, no official announcements have been made regarding these projects.
