Community invited to wildfire mitigation meetings

In preparation for this year’s wildfire risk season, the Routt County Wildfire Mitigation Council and fire districts in the county invite all residents and homeowners to free regional community education meetings.

Attendees can learn about local projects, resources and steps that residents and neighborhoods can take to decrease wildfire vulnerability. Food and beverages will be provided at 5:45 p.m., and the informational meetings will run 6-7:45 p.m. Registration is requested online at Routtwildfire.org.

The first meeting concerning West Routt Wildfire Mitigation is set for May 2 at the Hayden Center (495 W. Jefferson Ave.) in downtown Hayden.



The South Routt Wildfire Mitigation meeting will be May 8 at the South Routt Community Center (227 Dodge Ave.) in Oak Creek.

The North Routt Wildfire Mitigation meeting will be May 14 at North Routt Community Charter School in Clark. The Steamboat Springs Wildfire Mitigation meeting will be May 16 at Bud Werner Memorial Library.
