Ruben Amorim flies to UK for meeting with West Ham with Liverpool move now unlikely

Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim has flown to the UK to primarily have a meeting with West Ham officials, talkSPORT understands.

Amorim has been heavily linked with the Liverpool job amid Jurgen Klopp's upcoming departure with talkSPORT reporting earlier this month he'd held talks with the club, although the Portuguese denied any communication with Liverpool.

It appears Amorim's switch to Liverpool is now unlikely, and West Ham could take advantage with the 39-year-old set to hold talks with them.

It's looking increasingly likely that West Ham will need a new manager with David Moyes, who is out of contract in the summer, set to leave at the end of the season.

talkSPORT has also reported that former Wolves and Real Madrid manager Julen Lopetegui has been put forward as a potential replacement for Moyes.

Amorim has made waves in his homeland having won the Taca de Liga, the Portuguese League Cup in his first managerial gig with Braga.
