American singer Josh Groban performed You Raise Me Up at the Super Bowl in 2004. The following year, Westlife had a UK number one with it. Written by Nenagh’s Brendan Graham, it has been covered by countless artists, such as Rod Stewart, Secret Garden, Daniel O’Donnell and Johnny Mathis.
Graham is an accomplished novelist and composer. In 1994, Paul Harrington and Charlie McGettigan won the Eurovision with his song Rock’n’Roll Kids. Two years later, another composition of his, The Voice, sung by Eimear Quinn, also won the Eurovision.
