The NSE Nifty index closed 151.16 points up at 22147.0, while BSE Sensex ended up 599.34 points at 73088.33.
On the other hand, Bajaj Auto Ltd.(down 2.41 per cent), HCL Technologies Ltd.(down 1.32 per cent), Divi's Laboratories Ltd.(down 1.01 per cent), Nestle India Ltd.(down 1.01 per cent) and Tata Consultancy Services Ltd.(down 0.93 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
